Sarcoidosis

Chronic disease of unknown cause characterised by the formation of granulomas (nodules) that affects organs throughout the body particularly the lungs, liver, lymph glands, and salivary glands. T lymphocytes and other immune-related cells infiltrate areas and change the structure of surrounding tissues. A relationship with tuberculosis is suspected, but has never been proven.
