Hybridisation

Hybridisation is a technique where single strands of DNA or single strands of DNA and RNA are mixed together in solution and allowed to come together and bind to each other. Strands that are complementary to each other where the genetic code matches exactly between strands i.e. A with T and G with C, will bind strongly with each other and non-matching sequences will not bind together.
