Lymphoma

Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) can be caused by malignant changes in any of the cells that are normally found in the lymph nodes. It is possible to have NHL with changes in the mature lymphocytes, in the immature lymphocytes, in the macrophages, in the dendritic cells, or in a combination of these cells.

Because of all these possibilities, there are a number of different ways to classify NHL. The most commonly used classification is the newest method, the World Health Organization or WHO Classification, which tries to combine microscopic examination and the functional aspects of the cell with genetic studies of the cells.
