2. Are all HbA1c tests the same?
There is an international effort to standardise HbA1c tests. Many, if not most, tests are standardised to a method certified in a large clinical study referred to as the DCCT (Diabetes Complications and Control Trial). You can ask your doctor if the lab doing your test is using a standardised method.
