The
Australasian Association of Clinical Biochemists (AACB) was founded in 1961 and is the major professional society for practicing clinical biochemists in Australia and New Zealand. It is a full member of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (
IFCC) and Asian and Pacific Federation of Clinical Biochemistry (
APFCB). The Association has scientists and medical trained pathologist members in all major pathology laboratories, in many university departments and in several invitro diagnostic companies. Domestically, the Association has a close realationship with the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (
RCPA) where we have around 100 members common to both societies. Internationally, we meet regularly with the Association for Clinical Biochemistry (
ACB) and the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (
AACC).
