Phaeochromocytoma

A phaeochromocytoma is a tumour of the adrenal gland or less commonly tissues of the sympathetic nervous system outside the adrenal glands. About 10% of these tumours are malignant.

Phaeochromocytomas secrete hormones such as adrenaline and noradrenaline which may cause high blood pressure and heart palpitations.
